One of the documents you will need to submit to obtain your social security number is your birth certificate translated into French. In our experience, it must be translated by an official translator (traducteur assermenté) certified to translate from your language into French.
Prices vary depending on the translator, so we recommend contacting several translators to compare. Do it in advance, as early requests are usually less expensive. The typical cost is around €30 per page.
